Suet cakes are a great source of energy for wild birds. Suet cakes are primarily made from animal fat. The compact cakes are long-lasting, keep the mess in your yard to a minimum, require no measuring, and are simply placed into a suet feeder. No scoop necessary! Suet Logs or suet cakes will attract a large variety of birds including woodpeckers, cardinals, wrens and more.

Birds of all kinds love suet, and with so many special blends offered, you can attract the visitors of your choice. Choose from flavors featuring fruit, nuts, hot pepper, peanut butter, sunflower, safflower or just pure suet! Some brands of suet may not be suitable for feeding during very warm weather, but Heath suet boasts a high melting point of 122°F, making it a perfect feeding solution for wild birds year-round.

Today, bird suet cakes consist of a blend of dried fruits, nuts, bug parts and seeds. Because of their high fat content these cakes do not last in warmer temperatures. The easiest and most convenient way to purchase suet for birds is through your wild bird supply store. There are multiple recipes out there but they can be very challenging to perfect to the birds liking and may often times go to waste.
